Acudetox is a 5 point auricular acupuncture technique which may assist the client with withdrawal symptoms associated with addiction. It may be used to assist clients with smoking cessation and withdrawal from alcohol or prescription drugs etc. At five designated points in each ear, I will apply fine gauge, sterilized, one-time use stainless steel needles just under the skin, where they remain for up to an hour while the client relaxes in a comfortable chair. Some benefits which may occur are reductions in cravings, anxiety, sleep disturbance and need for medications.
